It’s sometimes the simplest things that bring the most joy.
The easiest way to get a smile from Kate is to do something surprising and unexpected, something she would consider “crazy”. Have you ever noticed how things become more amazing when they super sized or shrunk down? It’s with this in mind that we set out to make a life size Noddy.
How to create a life-size Noddy:
First I found a colouring page of Noddy using google. Then I increased it in Microsoft Publisher and printed it out.
After taping him together and roughly cut out the outline(which in hindsight was unnecessary). I traced over the outline with a blunt pencil applying quite a bit of pressure so that the cardboard had indentations.
I went over the indentations with a black felt tip.
Then set Kate up with some paint. We had to make our own skin colour and brown paint. Kate was quite intrigued discovering new shades as we mixed the paints together.
He had lost a lot of definition so we went over the details again with a felt tip once the paint had dried. Then cut him out.
We were very impressed with our work and couldn’t wait to take him on an adventure. We packed a Noddy book, life size Noddy and a picnic blanket and went looking for a reading spot.
The girls had a lovely time reading with Noddy watching over them.
We had so much fun with Noddy, that we decided another outing was required.
Off to the park we went.
Noddy enjoyed the climbing frame and a bit of hide and seek.
He got a little dizzy as the kids ran circles around him(my constant state).
We decided it best he not jump in puddles!
